Gas Servicing

Recently had our boiler serviced should our gasman check for gas leaks where the gas metre is as that is the entry point of gas into the house. Also should this be done at the end. If this is the case our gasman has never looked or asked about the gas metre.

No. There is no requirement to check the meter unless a gas rate is required for a condensng boiler. If you asked him though I can't imagine he woud have minded.

Also the Mk1 nose we all have is incredibly good at detecting any leak.

I smelt some gas by our outside meter. I called the 'gasman' who attended within the hour. He detected the leak but said it was a tiny leak and that it hardly registered. He painted a 'soap' solution over the connections and a very small bubble slowly appeared.
