Central Heating installation costs & time - London

Need central heating installed, inc boiler, rads and pipework. three bedrooms, reception & dining room plus kitchen (seven rads).

How much should I expect to pay. And how long will the work take? I need to get it done soon, as we have no heating at present. I've heard some people say it can take several months.

And best place to find an engineer.

Thanks

Best way to find a good installer is through recommendations.

If you can't find a good one through recommendations, then try the Gas Safe Register:

If you are living in the property, it will take longer to install than if you are living elsewhere. Especially, if you have furniture in place.

  • Thanks for the link :) I'm not living there at present, but need to move in fairly soon. The property is currently stripped bare.

In that case, it won't take several months. Couple of weeks tops.

  • I think the OP meant several months to find someone, not the time it takes to install ;)
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

No, no I do mean time to install. Install time of a few weeks would be perfect.
  • providing that nothing is out of the ordinary ie loads of laminate flooring or concrete floors to put ducting into, then thats only 5 to 7 days work

For a full fresh install your probably looking at between £5-6K

Definitely not several months. I had new ch installed last December in place of a gas warm air ch system, took about a week as I recall.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • Brilliant :) thanks
