I bought some headphones from Zavvi.com in Jan 2013. In Aug they just stopped working. The user guide states warranty is 12 months. Zavvi told me the warranty with them was only 6 months and said to go to manufacturer. I wrote to the manufacturer (Teknique) who have told me to go back to Zavvi.
I have now written to hut.com (Parent company of Zavvi). If they refuse, what options have I got left. In honesty the headphones were only £15, but the principle is that had I bought a £500 TV set, I'd be up the swanny. I'm quite happy to go down small claims court but think the amount precludes this!
thanks

Whoever is offering the 12 month warranty should honour it, but your statutory rights are against zavvi. The Sale of Goods Act says they have to repair replace or refund (possibly partial) if the fault is inherent.
However as they failed more than 6 months after purchase it will be assumed that the fault is not inherent. You may have to get an independent report to prove the fault is inherent and show it to zavvi to get them to do anything.0 -

I think you meant:
