Ford Focus 04/05 Light Bulb Change
Just changed my mates mainbeam bulbs, as both were dim. Not exactly a straightforward job. The drivers side is fine as you can get easy access but with the passenger side I had to take the whole headlamp case off.
That would have been straightforard as there are 3 bolts holding it in. One of the far left of the case, one in the middle and one down by the grill. Got those off no problem, but then the case wouldn't lift out. A little investigation revealled a hidden bolt, underneath the wheel arch. So I had to lay down on the road and find it.
The rest was easy, just click the clip off and place in the new bulb.
Might be useful for any Focus owners to know. I know models vary. This was specifically for the 54 reg plate.

How long did it take you? Asking as Halfords would do it for about £7 , so if it took you longer than an hour , your working for peanuts!
I have given up changing light bulbs on my focus , too many sore knuckles.0 -
I like the Mondeo methos, Twist 2 plastic knobs remove the grill, Pull 2 metal pins and the entire headlight pops out.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

About 15 mins to take headlamp out, change bulb and back in. You don't need to take it out though, quite straightforward to do it in situ

It's a piece of cake on the 2nd generation one.
Undo one Torx screw, release two clips (press downwards) and the whole headlamp lifts out.
The outboard clip takes a bit of finding, the first time you do it, but from then on, there's nothing to it.0 -
Me, I can change rear bulbs & the whole blooming plastic triangle on the back of Mondeos thanks to (ahem) a few mishaps & Haynes...
Front lights I think I'll delegate to sons (clutching Haynes!).0 -
Second the Focus MK2 replacement procedure, piece of cake. Why is it not the same for all cars?0

I had the same problem with my 54 plate Focus. Halfords will not change the passenger headlight. You can do it without taking off the main cover but it is fiddly to do. Once you have done it once you will be ok.
You may find removing the battery will give you more space to work round however ensure you have your 4 digit stero code before doing this as it will be lost.0
