Does anyone use 1Password?

Options
If so is it possible to get it to log you in automatically to sites that require drop down answers?

I know Internet banking plus with First Direct can cope with drop down and randomly generated security questions but I can't see how to do it in 1Password. It'll just in put the initial password for me and then I have to do the next stage involving drop down lists or random security questions manually.

Is it just not sophisticated enough?

I use LastPass but it's only the main password to get you into the bank, the rest i have to do manually.

It cannot log you in to sites that require changing password strings - those that ask for characters 1 2 4 & 6 then next time 2 3 5 & 1 (for example). However on those sites, you simply refer to the stored PIN details for that site and enter it yourself.

I used to use 1Password but switched to LastPass - at the time I was using an unsupported browser and with LP you can use a bookmarklet to enter password details even in unsupported browsers. It's free too and can import all your 1Password information.

  • It's strange that a free offering from First direct can cope with changing password strings and yet a paid app can't. Disappointing as I only bought it to work on a mac as the First Direct one only works in internet explorer.
    Wish I'd known about Lastpass.
  • Rereading the thread, SailorSam also uses Lastpass. Can you confirm that it can cope with changing password strings then?

I use lastpass, but only for the main account number etc, the changing strings I choose to do myself to avoid storing too many details with the app.
