Present Ideas for BF

Options
This year I am really struggling for ideas for my boyfriend for Christmas. Usually I'd get him a game for his console, smellies etc but he has loads of this stuff and has just bought the latest GTA and FIFA so they're off the list...

Sooooo.. any ideas what I can get for a 30 yr old. It will be a gift/s off me and our Son.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!! x

I don't know what your budget is so I'm merely thinking aloud here...

depending on what console he has, would he appreciation a subscription to xbox live/playstation plus? OH has saved a fortune on buying games through these subscriptions. Or a docking station for charging controllers so he is always ready to play?

If he has always been a gamer, a retro console and a few games from ebay so he can relive his childhood? (eg snes, megadrive etc)

a surround sound system so that he can enjoy his games in cinematic glory? a new HD TV to play them on?

Best headphones you can afford? (I found the folks at Richer Sounds were wonderfully helpfiul & sympathetic!)
Real life driving & football days? (I'm told Man Utd do a range of experiences, but gamers don't always appreciate reality.)
Something Completely Different like a golf or helicopter lesson? Add a scarf to the parcel - real fresh air can be enough of a shock without risking feeling cold!
(Me, cynical? One mate's a CoD widow & godson was almost without Vitamin D until forcibly repatriated on a family holiday.)
    All the best!

Turtle beach headphones, if he has an Xbox - points card so he can buy new players in FIFA

Ummm it's hard to help with no idea what he likes tbh. My DH would appreciate a costa coffee/ Starbucks gift card as that's his guilty pleasure while out, DS would appreciate a gift card for game as he's Xbox mad. Both always get lynx stuff as they fight over the shower gel and body spray, and a jar of retro sweets never fails to raise a smile from anyone in the family (ds was actually eyeing up the huge! Jar of marshmallows in wilkinsons yesterday ;))

If he's a gamer then a new wireless controller and/or docking station may be a possibility, especially if he's heavy handed.

  • Has he got a favourite chain restaurant? Many do vouchers and you could treat him to a meal.

Not sure how helpful my suggestions will be, but I've just finished shopping for my boyfriend's birthday and this is what I've got:
    - One Million 100ml [his favourite, and I know he is out - Does your partner like any particular aftershave? Could you find one he does like?]
    - A personalised "military dog tag" to go on his keys [personalised with the nickname only I call him lol].
    - T-shirt with a print of Thor's Hammer [he is big on Viking mythology and likes the hammer symbol, plus he lives in t-shirts with prints on so I figured it was a good option].
    - Personalised giant mug [with three images on of characters he has created from scratch on one of the computer games he plays]. I'll likely get some tea to go with the mug, as he drinks mug-full after mug-full every day. :)

The other suggestions all seem great too... It is hard to be specific without knowing his interests better, though I am a firm believer in taking the time to make something that is personal to the individual. It doesn't have to be expensive and it shows that you've put thought into it. :)
  • If he's anything like my hubby he will like boys toys such as remote control cars, scalextric on a generous budget or the ultimate boys toy a petrol RC car (though these can be well into the hundreds!)

Any DVD's he has hinted at? Does he drink, maybe a bottle of tipple? A personalised giant pork pie? Phone credit (if on payg)? a gift voucher for GAME? If it's warcraft he's into there is silly things like warcraft megabloks which tends to go quite cheaply, or warcraft monopoly etc.

PJ's, slipper, socks with a character he likes on them. I like Notonthehighstreet for ideas from kids, they do a great 'massage' shirt for daddy which is basically a print of a race track for the kids to run cars up and down, thought that was pretty cute.

My boyfriend is the same age as yours, if he is anything like mine I bet he would like a portable charger for his mobile phone. It is a mini one that has it's own battery and you can use it when you are out & about and low on battery! Guys love their gadgets!

For example something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-External-Flashlight-Thunderbolt-Incredible/dp/B005NFOA0S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1382660308&sr=8-6&keywords=portable+phone+charger

Also think about things that he needs but never would buy himself.. does he like buying his own clothes or need help with it? My bf always likes it when I get him clothes because he hates shopping! Does he like to cook? Maybe kitchen tools? Does he read? Maybe a mag subscription?

Has he mentioned some things before that he has said that he is interested in? It can be very tricky to get stuff for guys but what i do now is if my bf says he likes something in conversation I try to remember that as it could be a good idea for a pressie for another time. He will be pleased you remembered!

It's the little things guy's like. Last year I got my bf some things and wrapped them all up and into a small box. He had mentioned to me once that he wanted to make ice but didnt have an ice rray.. I got him some ice cube bags just for a laugh and they were only a quid.. was meant to be a little extra. I think that turned out to be the thing he liked best. He thought it was so thoughtful! :rotfl: :j

If you re really stuck search on youtube or google "stocking stuffers for guys" you get a lot of results! :D
