Hi,
Quick question if anybody could kindly advise me:
We bought a iPod dock radio thingy for our kitchen earlier in the year and it has developed a fault (basically when you plug it in and turn it on it surges power, like it is pulsing, but without sound or any usability - this continues even after it has been unplugged again).
Now having had it for a good while I must have thrown out the receipt (stupidly) and on phoning the stores customer service dept. they have advised me they will not exchange the item without proof of purchase. What I am asking is if the item states 'produced for Sainsbury's' on the back and it is fairly recent stock, do I have any rights in regards to an exchange?
I'm not after a refund, just to exchange for a similar or the same item.
Many thanks in advance.

A bank statement would be considered proof of purchaseOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

It was most likely a cash purchase. Even if not it would have been in with one of our grocery shop's but I would have no way of saying what month or gaging which month by the statement as we regularly spend £100+ at a time ( the iPod dock was only about £40) - does this mean I'm just !!!!!!ed with the faulty item and no rights?Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0

Did you use your Nectar card when you bought it? Head office can bring up a list of everything you've bought on it, and can tie in the purchase that way, especially if you have a product code (which might be on the Sainsburys sticker on the back).0
