Garden wall - likely cost?

Options
Has anyone any idea please how much it costs to build a garden wall?

It would be around 60' long and about 5' high.

    In what material?
    Brick, concrete blocks etc
Makes a big difference in cost
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥
  • Any basically.

I understand breezeblocks would be cheaper. I am hoping I can afford brick, but don't know how much dearer it would be.

I priced a brick wall app. 18' x 6' and it came to over £4k. Don't underestimate how costly it is to build brick walls.

How long ago was this that you priced up these walls? and I can mentally "add on a bit" for inflation to that...

The brick one was about 4 years ago, it was a cash job and looked gorgeous til some tw×t drove into it, I repaired it cos not worth doing on ins and I made a dogs dinner of it.
The concrete block was this year in august and not nearly as pretty.:D
Oh and both jobs were using local brickies not big companies.

that size may need to be double thick with rods/ties for strength if thats 60 feet and 5 feet
"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb
  • I'm now hazarding a guess at around the £5,000 mark for a brick wall, bearing in mind the double thickness etc comment.

Wondering how near I am to likely amount, bearing in mind I'm in a low-wage part of the country, so rates for the job aren't as high here as I've been used to.
