she has a deferred FS pension

Ah, I missed this. I know nothing about such things as I've never had one and never will.

    Sorry.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

Did you use this link to get the forecast?

    https://secure.thepensionservice.gov.uk/statepensionforecast/

    <<< >>>
Have you definitely been building up SERPS/S2P? Have you paid the full stamp or the Married Woman's small stamp?
    .

No I didn't apply for the forecast online. I phoned and they sent it in the post from a special department.

Yes I paid full stamp for about 44 years. But I contracted out of SERPS for one year.

Should be the same I would imagine.

However why don't you do the forecast online now and see what it brings back. Do it quickly as it says it's closing from tomorrow at 8pm until Monday the 14th.

I thought you said 3 bursts totalling 13 years in another thread?

I'm still a bit mystified about the £144 flat rate. I'm going to read the info xylophone supplied later but for myself - I've paid full NI, graduated, serps and Additional for 42 years. I contracted out for 3 short bursts - 1987-88; 1996-97 and 1998-2009. I've retired now but can't draw my state pension till circa 2019 (female born 1954).

Can you also confirm your date of birth as there seems to be some confusion over that too.

To be honest I'm a bit confused with your changeable answers in various threads.

Yes I'll go do the forecast now thanks.

I've slightly varied my personal details for security so I can't be identified but I'll use the real details when I do the forecast online and I gave the real details to the HMRC/DWP.

Well I just tried to do the forecast on the link you supplied JEM16 but my browser wasn't compatible. I clicked on the link for an Explorer upgrade but Microsoft said I had the latest version. My pop-up's & cookies were enabled and Java is switched on.

So - I'll write again to HMRC/DWP enclosing the evidence you supplied.

Please don't think I'm ignoring your advice. I just gave up after my last dealings with HMRC/DWP but will have another go now.

Sorry to have side tracked the thread for a while, OP. :o

    What browser are you using?

IE10 doesn't work for me but Chrome does. Perhaps you could install Chrome?

Ok fair enough - just makes it difficult to give you any proper advice, especially with the date of birth being so important.

Indeed. Not like we could pretend we are Dimey with just a DOB.

I was born on the same day of the year as Ronald Reagan apparently.

Anyway, I expect nowt (apart from Store Discounts) at 60.

I will get my US state pension AFTER my UK one. I e they raised the SP age for women earlier. which is interesting so maybe people should not complain so much here lol.

but is not surprising to me, as though I was born int he 60's I was taught as a child there, even though I was female I could be or do anything I wanted. I know women here 10+ years younger than me who were told by their parents and schools that they should never aim higher than a nurse or teacher, and many were told to take up hairdressing if they wanted a skill.

I wanted to be an astronaut, not a hairdresser.

I'm using Norton Identity Safe on Explorer. But don't worry. I'll write in.

Thank for all your help. It has been really useful, over all the threads :-)

Most people will have no choice but to continue working until 68 now. They just won't be able to afford to retire and will have to carry on.
