NatWest World MasterCard vs. Capital One Classic Extra

I'm a young person with only a year's credit history looking for a decent rewards credit card. After being rejected from Amex, I am looking for the next best card for someone in my position.
I have come across the NatWest and Capital One cards that appear to both offer small rewards, but still better than the nothing I get right now.
NatWest: 1 point per £1 (spend on Amazon, etc. vouchers)
Capital One: 0.5% cashback (in real cash)
Cash may be preferable to points, but NatWest does offer 2500 points at sign up and another 2500 annually - as well as double points for 9 months.
If my maths is correct, does that not make the NatWest card essentially 1% for those 9 months?
I also hear that World MasterCards are the best type of MasterCard and offer additional protection/travel services?
If anyone has experience with either of these two cards I'd love to know which you think is best.
Edit: Looks like you also get access to these exclusive offers with World MCs too.
