Hi all,
I am currently studying part time aswell as working full time.
The contruction course I am doing is OK and I am managing it despite having no experience in construction.
Next year I am looking to do the HND Full Time course, quit my current job and work part time.
Now my wife is a part time primary school teacher so the household earnings will be around £20k.
As a student whos 35 and in Wales could anyone advise what I would be entitled re grants/maintenance loan.
Many Thanks
Matt

Rather depends on the OP's career plans, doesn't it - perhaps he doesn't want to be a brickie?0 -
Hi there,
Correct I am not looking at hands on work in construction - I am looking to go down the building or quantity surveying route.
Cheers :-)0 -
The direct.gov link is better for UK. Have you tried the calculators on https://www.studentfinancewales.co.uk?
I've been a married and married and pregnant student, both times in Wales so happy to try and answer questions. Well done on your plans

I think what you meant to say was that it's better for England - last time I looked Wales was still part of the UK. But it's quite likely that your link will give more relevant information.0 -
Hi Mrs Student,
Thanks for your reply.
Just looking for information on the max grant I will be entitled to - My wife who is a pt teacher will not be earning more then £20k.
I will have no income until I start part time work during term.
I have tried the calculators but they always show living away from home.
Thanks again

"Living away from home" means living away from your parents' home, not away from the marital home.0 -
Thanks for clearing that up for me :beer:0
