Freesat installation

I promised my gran that I would sort out installation of a freesat dish for her as my cousin was supposed to sort out all the paperwork for the free install last year, but he messed about and she missed out.
Can anyone advise on the best company / way to a system installed? Is it going through Currys?
thanks in advance.

Currys is by no means the cheapest or best. Look in the Yellow Pages for an independent installer and ring around for the best deals.
To be honest, Freesat is probably not the best option for your Gran unless she already has had Sky and so has a dish. A Freeview installation with a TV aerial will be cheaper and with more than enough channels for her needs.0 -
Currys would be the very last option, they'll simply subcontract. As above, any independent installer can do this. But she'll need a Freesat digibox or PVR as well, as most TV's don't have built-in Freesat tuners.
As above, if she already has a TV with a Freeview tuner built in (all modern ones do), then Freeview via an external aerial is a better option.
What is she currently using though, and why do you specify Freesat? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Get 3 quotes from local contractors. They'll turn up, look, talk and give you a quote. Cheapest won't necessarily be best. Use your judgement for who is best. Avoid anyone who says 'digital aerial' (there's no such thing).0
