    Hi,
It's my first job since I graduated from University so I took it with open arms, been working here for 7 months now and apart from a few times where he paid me late it has been fine.

    Thanks

You have the right to be paid on time as per the contract on the right date. Would be a shame if the software went a bit wrong eh

    Raise a grievance.

I have difficulty getting in touch with my employer at the moment. They will only respond when they feel like it, so it seems.

I have also been given the past week "paid time off" which would be fantastic if I was actually paid.

I work remotely/office provided by my employer, so I don't get to meet with my employer on a daily basis. Just a few times a week for meetings and discuss progress etc. We mostly communicate through telephone or messages.

How late now is the payment?

You do not need to meet - if you stopped working I bet you'd hear from the boss then! Id say I was not doing anymore work till I get paid!

I wouldn't mess around as paid or not paid time off may as well be laid off so get your money then get out

It's a week late, yet every day he was sure the money would reach me.

I'm currently not working since this situation arose. Even though he said not to work till it's sorted, I wouldn't have out of principle.

I would love to tell him where to go, however I'm a graduate with little experience and would be very difficult to land another job in my area. I can't afford to resort to benefits.

And you cant afford NOT to be paid either?

Email a grievance to them to get this sorted.

    How much are you owed?

Have you taken any holiday just out of interest in this time?

Also spend this time at home looking for another job

Does your contact say a set amount of hours a week ?

Devote this non-working time to job hunting. An employer with financial problems, who doesn't see paying employees on time as a priority and who lies about it is a terrible combination.

What sort of business is it?
sounds like the employer is in trouble.

This screams cash flow problems, I would be looking to get out asap.

Is the company paying its other bills?, are suppliers ringing chasing money? if so get applying for jobs now.
