Paying off one card with another - will I be charged?

I have a Virgin MBNA card with £1700 on it. I also have an Egg Money card with a nil balance. If I use the Egg card to pay off the Virgin card, will Egg charge me a balance transfer fee? I'm thinking of just doing it online and putting the Egg card details in to make an online payment (as if I was paying with a regular debit card) rather than a balance transfer.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

    You cant

Only debit cards can be used in this situation, and your payment request will be rejected.

And if they were both credit cards then there is a fee for doing BTs with both these companies.
