Paying off one card with another - will I be charged?

I have a Virgin MBNA card with £1700 on it. I also have an Egg Money card with a nil balance. If I use the Egg card to pay off the Virgin card, will Egg charge me a balance transfer fee? I'm thinking of just doing it online and putting the Egg card details in to make an online payment (as if I was paying with a regular debit card) rather than a balance transfer.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

You cant
Only debit cards can be used in this situation, and your payment request will be rejected.0 -
And if they were both credit cards then there is a fee for doing BTs with both these companies.0
