This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Hi everyone
I was really surprised I couldn't find a new thread at this time, so I hope I haven't missed it and double posted.
Group redundancy consultation is officially over and individual consultations will start week commencing 14th October. I just have my fingers crossed for the jobs I have applied for but if I don't get one of those, I will have to apply for one of the new roles at work. Getting a new job and redundancy payment would be fantastic as we could immediately halve our debt but I keep thinking nothing that good would happen to me :rotfl:
Need to do lots of washing but the weather does not look very promising so the dreaded tumble drier may be out. I want to buy a Lakeland heated airer but it won't be this month. Though am now thinking how long would it take to pay for itself compared to tumble drier use. Hmmmm
Chicken thighs for dinner on BOGOF offer from Booths. Called into Morrisons last night and bought lots of YS pork mince for the freezer. 2 weeks until DH's payday so I want to resolve to eat from the freezer for the rest of the month, so inventory and 2 week meal plan is on the job list for today.
Also want to make Christmas list and get working on it though my stash cupboard is already looking quite healthy.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning TTFTM and everyone who follows,
TTFTM Good luck with the job application.
HH I feel old this morning!
Molly, Hilstep Hugs.
Dumpling Hope that your DD is feeling happier this morning.
LW I am off to see Lola puppy again this afternoon.
Thanks for all the birthday greetings yesterday, they were much appreciated.
Yesterday was a bit of a mixed day. Work was generally ok but I did have one really difficult class, at least a all my others were lovely.
DS rang me at work to say that he had scraped my car in a car park. He was in a real state But my first question was "are you ok?".
He left his contact details with the shop but the owner of the other car hasn't contacted us yet so I am assuming that they are not bothered.
DD1 had her party here last night. 20 very loud 15 and 16 year old girls, I think that they all had a good time!
Tonight I am off out for a curry with OH and a couple of friends.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning TTFM and all who cross/follow.
Hubby's been fed and dropped at work, I'm off for a trawl round the CS's to see if I can find some more dresses.
When hubby gets home were filling our hanging baskets with winter pansies.
My DGS made me laugh y'day, he was looking at my front door when he spotted the peephole, 'Is that a camera Nanna?' he asked. 'No' I replied, 'just a peephole'. ''Not a lot of use to you is it' he said looking down at me and up at the peephole, which sits a good 8 inches above my head. He is only 8 and has a great sense of humour.
Molly I hope Poppy & Molly are ok today.
Have a good day everyone.

The piggies are fed , the cat has turned her nose up at her breakfast and is now asleep on DHs knee
Dd2 is in bed don't expect to see her for a couple of hours
I might go and have a look round the garden centre , hh has reminded me I need some autumn colour in the tubs at the front
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning all:D
Baby girl asleep on Mr NPM for once instead of me so taking advantage and having a brew in peace:j
Off for walk to village shops shortly with Noah and mrs milks. Not been out of house since Tues due to them being ill. Need to buy a few fresh things.
Meal tonight is roast pepper, onion and potato tortilla, tomato, red onion and basil salad and a green salad with honey and mustard dressing. Am making a bread to go with it. It's a John Whaite recipe and is lush..... Garlic and pesto bread with a balsamic glaze:D...... Yes I'm John Whaite obsessed lol.
May make a lemon curd and marscapone cake a la Jo Wheatley if I get time.
Tonight is film, popcorn and snuggles with the love god;)
There are a few on here who are a bit New Age ..... Any of you know anything about Starseeds or that type of thing?
The reason I'm asking is..... Bear with me here as I sound bonkers I know!..... I have a birthmark on my thigh in the shape of Orion and I Googled it last night and found loads of info on Orion Starseeds physical characteristics and personality and its me to a tee!!!
For those of you thinking !!!!!!? Apparently there is a growing body of evidence pointing towards us all descending from various star systems... One of these being Orion ... I have all the characteristics. Mr NPM is laughing at me being a crank
On that note of looking like a loony I bid you farewell:cool:

Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning everyone :j,
It's a beautiful day here with sunshine and blue skies. I'm really grateful to have had such a mild autumn so far. Hoping to keep the heating off for as long as possible to save some money.
Hubby's turn to cook breakfast this morning and then as soon as that is made and cleared away I'm planning to bake some cranberry, orange and almond biscotti from the Hairy Dieters new cookbook. I'm extremely tempted to join the challenge thread to cook every recipe in a favourite cookbook. I would choose one of the Hairy Dieters books as everything I've made from them so far has been lovely. It would push me to try new foods and have another go at foods I haven't liked.....olives spring to mind, bleurggh!
DD10 has come home from school happy since I wrote about the bullying. I can't ask for more than that. I'm still going to try and get her into a different school when she goes up to secondary. There is a new academy opened up this year and my nephew started there this year. He has come on leaps and bounds since going and they seem to really care about the children and get to know them personally.
My SAD lamp arrived yesterday....it's certainly bright. I hope it will make a difference this winter. I have it on the wall next to me by my computer as I spend most of my time sitting here. It only needs to be on for an hour or two a day according to the bumph which came with it. If nothing else, it would make an amazing crafting light.
Well that's about it for now. TTFTM I hope you get an amazing redundancy package and will quickly find another better job.
Take care and gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning All
TTFTM - I hope your luck changes and you get the outcome you want.
Moorhen - Belated Birthday Wishes to you.
HH - Laughing at your description - do you use a ladder for the peephole?
Went for dinner at friends last night which was lovely but I was very full, the first hot dinner since DD left on Wednesday! Off to another friends for tea tonight, I feel very spoiled. DD will be back tomorrow night so will have to start cooking again soon!
Been to get a few bits and bobs this morning, washing is on the line but it keeps drizzling, hopefully it will brighten up long enough to get it dry.
Going to try a bit more packing today, spent the last 2 evenings (apart from going out for my tea) sorting through the 3 children's old school work - all the paint had cracked and fallen off the paintings so need to hoover that up. The great big box has been reduced so that's something less to take.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Hi all
Lol, Camelot, no I just shout 'Who's there', if I climbed on a ladder I'd probably fall off!
BBird, yes it was DD, and the reason her staffy is so chunky is her oldest foster son keeps giving both dogs tidbits, still if that's the worst he does that's good, and she did enjoy harvest festival.
I struck gold at the charity shops and got 2 dresses size 14 so that's me sorted now I have enough dresses.
Have a good day everyone
