HELP! need to make a dvd with pics and video slide that i can lick through

Hi, PLEASE HELP ME HERE
have a wedding today and have best man duties. For my speech I got a dvd made with pics and a small video in between.
Basically I wanted so that as I do my speech I can click through the slideshow to relate to the story.
But I got the dvd back yesterday late and when you click through there delay between pics, and a ccouple pics need removing.
I have all the appropriate pics and video on a memory stick. I have tried to make a DVD myself but all the pics are loading on it out of order. I will be using a modern tv at the speech to show the pics and vid.
Does anyone know any free programmes I can download to make a dvd where I can click (skip/next) to the next pic, without it playing itself (so I have full control) and where you can also play a small video inbetween. No effects in between pics.
Ive tried just using the memory stick direct into the tv, usb, but the pics come in random order and you have to play bout to open up the video file separate from the pcs.
Any help or ideas please

if you can get access to a laptop and projector, then i would make a powerpoint type presentation.

Yep, powerpoint if you have Microsoft office, or try downloading Libre office (free) - it has a similar 'presentation' program. In it's simplest form, you copy & paste photos on to slides which sounds like what you need. better get moving. Good luck with the speech..
