It's the same reason that many people don't park in their own garages a home. So many modern houses with an attached garage are built so that you drive in but need to climb out of the back hatch to get out.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

the decision is now uours fight or pay. Don't ignore this one as bailiffs ratchet up the costs enormously.
Actually the decision is fight AND pay (£80 court fee) or pay (£135 judgment). So you're actually fighting (a difficult battle) for £55.
As p-t-p says, your decision - but whatever you do ignoring shouldn't be an option as this will see costs mount even more rapidly. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

What a wasted opportunity of another easy POPLA win against Armtrac, their signs even have the word 'fine' on them and clearly there was no loss (and they would never have coughed up the contract with the landowner). The OP could have easily won at POPLA with the right form of words.
All for the want of coming here earlier and asking how to write a winning POPLA appeal...or coming here at least when the small claim hit the doormat in August and could have been robustly defended!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Not just modern homes, our 37 bungalo garage can only be accessed by a mini, or Austin 7 as it was then. It's the same reason that many people don't park in their own garages a home. Thank you for very speedy replies. So consensus seems to be I've left it too late to have much chance of fighting this then? Ok, suppose I pay the £135. Is there anything that can be done to make them widen the spaces so others don't get caught by the same trap?0

Verymuch doubt it.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

If it was me I would bite the bullet and pay as you have 28 days from judgement to pay before a judgement is registered against you.
You could apply for a set aside but I don't think they allow you to if you simply ignored the claim. Its also not a good idea to say you didn't receive them if you did.
As for the car park it may be asking the council if they have any plans, maybe they squeezed a few more bays then they were supposed to.0 -
Thanks again for replies. It's not a council cp, it's privately owned. If armtrac can get £64 or £104 instead of £4 per car in this way they have a strong incentive to lay this sort of trap. If there is no minimum size for a car parking space does it mean the lines could legally be, say 4 foot apart?0

You have little choice but to pay, unless you want this registered as a ccj against you for 6 years even if you satisfy this. So pay within the 28 days or it will impact on you for years. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

It depends on when it was built I once bought a piece of land next to a pub I owned to make a car park, the minimum bay size then was 2.4M X 4.8M but if it is an old car park I wouldn't have a clue if there is a minimum size.0
