Can anyone recommend a good set for me to listen to music from my laptop, I've had Sony and tried all the earbud type, but they seem to deteriorate after a few months, so I want to invest in a quality headset.
thanks in advance

What way are they deteriorating, and what is your budget?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Winner of a what hifi budget headphones award in 2012, I bought these last year - Panasonic RP-HTX7
You won't find better headphones for under £30 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-RP-HTX7AE-K-Lightweight-Headphone-monitoring/dp/B004UDTM1Q/ref=pd_cp_ce_00 -
I think Sennheiser are good. I've tried several brands over the years and always come back to them.Herman - MP for all!

I've owned some wonderful Sony studio headphones in the past as well as their top of the range earbuds and whilst the sound has been spectacular, they all seem to have a very short life ... earpads rotting, buds falling apart etc. ... so I steer clear of Sony now.
I agree that as a brand Sennheiser make some excellent headphones that do last the distance.
If your lappy has Bluetooth, you might want to consider some Bluetooth headphones. It's so nice not to have trailing wires to contend with.
I recently invested in a pair of these Jabra Revo Bluetooth headphones and use them with my laptops and my iPod Touch.

They are surprisingly comfortable, fold down for storage, and I think the sound quality is very good although I have to admit that at 64 my days of hi-fi ears are ended and I'm no longer the audiophile I once was. The only downside to these phones apart from the high price is the fact that you need to remember to charge them up at intervals, although I find the battery life pretty good depending on volume setting of course.... I've got a desktop so a bit different but after going through 3 lots of various headphones i've got myself a mic and separate speakers and it's much better.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

These headphones get good reviews and the cables are easily replaceable. £16.61 including delivery from Amazon.
