The EU directive requires LBG to lose a certain amount of market share.

If both TSB and Lloyds branches are fighting for each other's customers, and succeed equally, this would be a healthy competitive position that would have no impact on the EU directive whatsoever.

I was with Lloyds, local bank, now TSB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Miles to the "Local branch"

They are messing me about so will switch to Halifax, I get £100 for the switch I think, then in 6 months switch to the LOCAL Lloyds if not happy with Halifax.

Prefer the black stallion to blue bubbles?

It's almost 'Back to the Future' for us up here as we have TSB and BOS back with the black stallion scarpering back down south.

Next to go will be NatWest when the CoE buys the Scottish part of it.

we were dumped with TSB whether we liked it or not, and it was a business account, and they don't offer the same services as Lloyds - who are rubbish but at least they did offer some of the things we NEED! Have had 6 months of arguing the toss with TSB - in the end they couldn't care less whether they have our account or not.

So we would have to transfer to Bank of Scotland - as Lloyds have no local branches in Scotland now - and have the rigmarole of keeping two business accounts going for 2 years or so as that is the time it takes to migrate everyone over. We did it just three years ago when we moved to Lloyds in Scotland so pretty fed up at the thought of doing it again.

Before the split, we tried to find out what changes there would be to the account - no one could tell us. I have no idea why they bother having branches, as they know nothing, nor does HQ, and as for having a Relationship Manager, joke....

If anyone says the banks care about you as a customer, perhaps they are with Coutts.

I wouldn't say any bank particularly cares about me as a customer, and I'd be surprised if they did. The bank cares about profit.

That said, they should at least try to 'pretend' that they care about you to keep your business. Some businesses do this better than others, but they're usually more expensive.

Well I'll be joining TSB when they launch the TSB plus account!
  • If TSB customers are still using Lloyds branches to service their accounts then it makes sense to entice them.

I know for a fact TSB target Lloyds customers who use their branches.

I'm guessing you don't live anywhere near the branch where you opened your account?
