Everyone makes mistakes, these things happen, and on the positive side it gives you new experiences, and things to talk about in future.
Nice of witness to stop, a rare occurence, but again on the bright side a nice reminder that there are some genuinely good people in our cruel world.
Nice to be able to attend A&E and not have them asking you if you have insurance, before deciding if they could treat you properly or patch you up (as would be the case for 50 million USA citizens)
Nice that you have a public transport system that is clearly subsidised (£2.40 is not expensive, although with 4 people it would be cheaper to get a taxi)
Nice to be alive.
Oh and a tip. If your passengers are NOT screaming, that is when you need to worry. If you ever have to chose who to give first aid to, after say being a witness to an accident. Ignore the screaming one's as they are alive, and breathing, and deal with the silent one's, who might not be.
But yes. a real PITA. Daughter will most likely have nightmares, but WILL get over it.
If you drive, then eventually this sort of thing will happen to you. You may find yourself being a little more cautious when driving, and more horrified at the risks people take, but chear up. The sun is shinning and NOBODY died. Brightside !!!!0 -
Sorry to hear about your accident!
tesuhoha, a friend of mine had a blow-out on the M1 last week and hit the central reservation. Caused other accidents. It's shocking, to say the least!
Have been very unlucky with other people driving and had been in around 7 crashes by the time I was 21! Two write-offs! (Mum managed to write a Volvo off when a dog ran out - I had stitches in my head.)
I am still a nervous passenger! I'm also not good as a driver on London roads. A confident driver generally, happy on a motorway or 'normal roads', but Central London scares the bejesus outa me!
Really hope they rule in your favour - keep us informed! Good luck!

Really sorry to hear this.
Funnily enough, a similar accident almost happened to us this morning. We were sat in traffic, let someone out from a junction on the right, moved a few metres forward, the car behind latched itself onto our bumper to refuse another car from the junction coming out, down the junction flies this other car and almost t-bones the guy behind us.
There was lots of shouting and gesturing, it was incredible. Do people not see that when you're emerging from a junction, you should wait for a gap rather than just come out and cause accidents?0 -

We ended up spending a few hours waiting to be transported home by a low loader, waiting in the walk in centre, and then in A&E (as my daughter was referred there by the walk in centre). I also discovered how expensive bus fares are - £2.40 to travel three miles into the town centre
If you've read this far, thanks for reading
. I feel better just getting it out of my system.
Sorry about your accident, but - Christmas Shopping?? Already???? Arrrgghh!!!0 -

Its not surprising you are a nervous passenger! I won't drive in central London. I don't mind anywhere else. The last time I did I had a meltdown and burst into tears at the wheel. That was way back in the 70s when the traffic was a lot lighter. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

Was a long time ago (43 now)! Had a major bust-up with BF (brief row!) on way home from Holloway last week. Arghhhh, he kept saying GO GO GO and I was worried about pulling across a lane as, in my eyes, nobody was letting me go and I risked getting walloped! Ended up with a shouting match, me in tears, telling him it makes me more nervous! I just don't like lots of lanes on busy streets - especially when I don't know where I'm going! To be fair, he's usually extremely complimentary about my driving and I know I'm pretty good usually - just not in busy London! Need to go back this Saturday - have said I'll go on my own. Thought he'd say no, but he was very happy with the idea. It must say something lol.
Also had engine failure on a plane, major hydraulic probs on another, three cancelled flights within 6 months (on every trip I went on in other words!). Honestly, people HATE travelling with me lol! Such a Jonah!
