Right this is going to sound a bit harsh but are you seriously telling me that you have continued to just overpaint it with water based paint a number of times despite the advice given in Post #2 when you were told that it would still leech through?
They told me I had to paint it which is what I've done and its still come through? So I was doing as they said except its not done anything.
    Of course it hasn't!

    Cheerss

  • inspections in social housing? when did all that start?

Your ceiling will be sorted, trust me the people who inspect will know what's what as far as upstairs leaks go, they will have seen it all before

I'd already painted it by then a few times. I haven't bothered since as I had every intention of mentioning it today which I have.

Seriously? inspections every 3 months, is that across the board now, friends of mine in social housing never have inspections, is this since social housing went on AST's as opposed to permanent ?

housing associations tend to be a lot stricter than council housing and not all councils have changed to AST's, my council still offer secure tenancies or if the property is a new build they will offer a tenancy which is reviewed every 7 years

I'm so annoyed I am crying yes its good they are going TRY but why the hell should i have paint it again buy yet more paint when it wasnt my bloody fault.
Ask the landlord this. What happens if you don't paint it?. Out of interest , who are the housing association?. They will have a complaints procedure. If you think its unfair you have been left to complete this repair at your expense, and been badgered to do so, complain.
