Printing Postage labels from PayPal...how does it work!?

Hello all, I did a quick search and there doesn't seem to be anything relevant.
I am flirting with the idea of testing out the new PayPal postage printing facility. However, I am confused since I send most of my items via 1st Class Recorded delivery....and...well...how will the slip thing work? I usually fill out the orange slip at the PO and they hand me back the top part for the reference etc...
So, I was just wondering whether anyone knows how that part of the process will be affected if I already pay for and print postage from home?
Many Thanks in advance.

To use recorded you can print off the postage via paypal and also the RD confirmation slip, but then you still need to queue at the PO to get the receipt part stamped.
Likewise even for a certificate of posting you would still need to take your items to the PO.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi, thanks for the reply. I have just logged onto paypal and tried to print off the confirmation slip but I can't seem to find it at all??? Also, will I have to spend another hour writing out all the details again, or will that part be covered by the confirmation slip? Thanks in advance.0

The paypal postage system is a total waste of time. Much better off just using the royalmail online postage. Much easier to use.
Neither of them cost you anything, other than the postage cost.
Hope you have nice PO to take them to, otherwise hope you dont get offended too easy.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

I've been using the paypal service for about a month now and I love it - someone pays, I print out the packing slip, pay for the post, get a COP - job done. My post office is perfectly fine about me taking in a pile of A4 COP's to get stamped, cuts down no end on the time spent in the post office and I don't have to worry about making sure I have the cash to pay for the parcels to be spent. You put in how much the parcel weighs and it automatically calculates it for you. I sent a phone special delivery this week, paid for it by paypal and pre-filled out the silver slip, again no problems. I had a look at the RM website but I don't think you can pay by paypal (correct me if I'm wrong) and at least doing it this way, I know whatever is in my paypal account is mine! The only thing is you can't send 2nd class but I always post first anyway so its not a problem to me.0

HI there, thanks for the response....just wondering...where do you get the A4 COP's from??? I can't see it at all! Also, you mentioned the silver slips for Special Delivery....can I also fill in the orange slips for 1st class recorded or is that not necessary? Thanks.0 -
I have used pay-pal postage for a while now, and i think its great, I just print the postage off, and dont bother with proof of postage, instead I put all my packages in our works outgoing mail box and the postman collects them, work dont mind, because the postage is paid and the postman dosnt mind either.0

Any body know where the 2nd class option has gone??0

2nd class is not an option when using paypal postage unfortunately.
I like the idea of printing my own labels, especially without the price displayed, but as a matter of principle to support my favoured Post Office, I still prefer to queue up and pay the man behind the counter. They earn more revenue from this method, and they need all the revenue they can get to protect them. (there is another thread already on PO customer services so I won't digress!)
I only use the Paypal labels when I have to visit the Dragons Den (grumpy old pendantic bats at the nearest PO to me) or if I am not able to leave the office at lunch time.
I also find it uses waaaay too much paper for my liking!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
