Returning items bought on credit note.

Options
Here's hypothetical situation (which may become real):
If i get goods from a retailer by using their own credit note, can i return item for cash refund ?

I'm just looking for a way to claw back my money that retailer swindled us out of. Is this scenario legally viable ?

Northern Ireland is the place.

    Legally viable... yes.

However, most retailers will only refund in the same way that payment was made.
I.e. pay by card, refund to same card.
Pay by cash, refund with cash.
Pay with credit note, refund with a credit note.

Pretty sure you idea won't work, sorry.

I have known this scenario, do an exchange, get another receipt, then use that receipt to get a refund.it may or not work

Even if you take the items back, there's no automatic right to a refund. The retailer may opt for credit note again, they may not allow returns for change of mind.

Why did they issue a credit note? You say you were swindled, in what way? You may be entitled to a refund already depending on circumstances so if you can detail them, we may be able to help you get your money back.

To late, once you accept the credit note if forms a new contract as acceptance of the situation.

Not if they were misled about their rights. Consumers can't sign away their rights.
