I am abstaining the chocs the now. Been writing everything down we spend.
Its incredible what can be spent on glitch shopping.

Bananababe I can't believe that your friends went without food. I'm sure there's stuff they can sell? Wish I had one car let alone two! I don't think you should feel bad. Maybe invite them over and show them how easy it is to save money on food?

It always bugs me the difference between genuinely poor people (who don't have enough money) and people who have plenty, just manage it poorly. I know at the end of the day being in need is being in need but it still bugs me. We met a lady when I was down in Cornwall on my last job who due to changes in her incapacity benefit (and having to wait months for any money, being pushed from pillar to post) had to choose between sanitary towels and food. Terrible. And apparently people don't need crisis loans!

Going to C+C in a bit. I haven't ordered the toothbrush but am still excited to have my shopping for a lot less :D

I can't believe the 'noob' error I made..... I picked up the Asda apple pies I wanted from my list from a stand at the end of an isle......

Thing is, they weren't Asda ones, they were Mr Kipling.... OMG how similar is shops own brand packaging allowed to be. :o

Oh well, that would have made my almost £13 APG even bigger, probably almost £15 as at the time T's pies were on offer (not now)..... Just remind me next time never to shop in my store before 9am.... 4 checkouts and 4 'fish' to choose from, thankfully I found one that took the bait reasonably well..... got her in a friendly convo before handing over my APG.... it was the biggest she's ever seen, and I know she's worked there forever!

    One more thing.....
Found a gadget in A's reduced from about £15 to something like £3.60. It plugs in car ciggy lighter and has a 13 amp plug socket and USB port. Got one yesterday for me, and last 2 in my store for my Dad n Sis this morning after I showed them. Good item for partly covering the tracks of a mahoosive APG iykwim. ;)

This mornings shop results due about 12 if i'm still about then. :D

I have an apg I intend to recycle this afternoon, so will be trying the chocs though they will be stored away for Xmas/Halloween.

Just done 2 x c&c orders using the 17 off code twice so that has helped immensely, hoping the refund for the toothbrush goes back in for Friday but if not well it will be £25 saved.

Just have a lot of expenses this week, mostly the car which is up for mot this afternoon.

Fingers crossed for that one. I'm really bad at recycling APGs in that I end up buying anything to use them up and as quick as possible in case they change the rules. I'm as bad with vouchers and gift vouchers :rotfl: they burn a hole in my pocket

I need to use stuff up its too easy to stockpile !

Is the carlsberg 12pks @ 3 for £21 in tesco ok for the cb as was planning to buy these and sell on to DH's pal.

yes you could include them(3) in a Tesco choc shop at sada £24 vs £21 - Chris V has shown last night that it compares well £5.10 towards your apg and £12 back on clicksnap

ie £24 paid minus £17.10 back means £6.90 for 36 beers. Pity my OH don't and won't drink it:eek::eek:

    Morning all.

Big hugs required around here me thinks.

Sometime the glitches and bargains can't help people deal with all the struggles they have to deal with.

A friend of mine just told me they went without food recently. I was really upset knowing I could and have put a bag together for them. My husband pointed out that the live in a five bedroom house, haven't worked through choice for two years(lived on inheritance) have fifteen animals two cars and all the usual trappings, they dug their own hole so to speak. But I still felt terrible

    I think I'm a sap ! :(

know how you feel there hun and yr husband as well tbh

iv offten given to "friends" who claim poverty (normaly i cant stand the though of kids going with out):( (also i do have one friend who hit real hard times and helped her nowing it went to a good place but she helped me when my marrage broke down few years back she was a real friend i was glad to help her back :T

and my o/h says to me that if they stoped going out friday or saturday nite got rid of sky sports n movies and buget for food properly or even cooked a decent meal then they would be alright

im almost there with a deposit for a house and happend to mention it to few friends we had over for some tea the other nite (only cos there was the property post with big circles around the houses we liked :rotfl:

and all of them told us how lucky we are to be able to save :rotfl: and 2 of live at home rent free and good jobs but most just live beyond there means

me and o/h pointed out we dont have sky we havent had a holiday this year only our parents caravans last year (freeish) we only have one car now and that cheap to run adn insure most my friends have HP CARs , we moved to a cheaper area to live ,

i shop in charity shops (they all coment on how lush MY clothes and kids look and how nice my house is its mostly second hand or made:o:rotfl: i shop savy;)(thankyou u guys ) also cook from scratch a lot (none of my friends will woopsie shop or use a voucher:eek:

worst of all thou if they cook a joint of meat then after they had there meal from it they bin it:eek: (not if im there for food thou;)

one friend hates the "smell" of cold meat

another thinks you get food poisning (i wont tell her the curry the other nite was chicken from the day before:eek::rotfl:)

most just think you shuldnt do it

the money they waste on food going in the bin is unreal some times i want to shake them so much as they have money just waste waste waste
