hi matelodave
oh i have been, my supplier is bg for both and eventually after a long email battle got my last winter bill of £987 (feb-may 2013) reduced to £16 as it turned out the elec meter was faulty which was replaced free to a digital one. i'm pretty savy with unit prices and standing charges and was only a couple pound out on my own calculations before i rang in the readings and got the actual bill.
i did eventually change from the original 2 teir rate to a lot lower single rate which is now .12748p per unit instead of the .171318p normal and 0.7251p low which turned out not to be working so all the usage was on the normal rate.
i think the cancelled all the electricity costs because they had no way of prooving how much usage was in both tiers, plus i mentioned that suppliers are supposed to be helping to reduce the carbon footprint and as my supplier had done nothing to help with the heating system i desperately needed.
I had a bbq that night to celebrate lol0
