I have 3 kids and our living room is the room we eat in too, at the moment we have matt paint on the walls which is impossible to clean.
In the hall and kids rooms I have vinyl silk which is easily cleaned.
Is there a reason not to paint the living room walls in silk?
I have heard many people say you shouldn't but not sure why, it seems the perfect solution to getting rid of mucky hand prints etc.

Some people don't like the shiny finish on silk, with the other reason often quoted is that the shiny finish is less forgiving to any imperfections in the wall as they tend to show up more. Beyond that no real reason I'm aware of if you are happy with both those issues.Adventure before Dementia!0

Silk finish. Yuk! Horrid stuff - just my opinion.
Look at Dulux "Endurance" retail range which is cleanable or having repainted with the matt of your choice overcoat it with Decorator's Varnish.

I've never heard you shouldn't pain your living room with silk paint. I prefer it to matt.0
