Ok so we’re in the process of a FTB,
Everything is completed (searches, queries etc) and im just waiting for the Mortgage offer to be ticked off that was issued today and then its hopefully all done (I say that now but who knows with house buying)
Can I push for a compilation date now, as my solicitor hasn’t mentioned this at all? HELP!
Many Thanks

You need an exchange date first and then a completion date unless both take place on the same day.
Is it possible that your solicitor hasn't mentioned it due to the vendors position? Is it a chain free property? Has the vendors solicitor sent the contract yet?0

The completion date is a compromise between all the parties in the chain and can be seriously discussed when everyone has all the paperwork in place for each transaction.
When the completion date is agreed between all parties, then contracts can be exchanged.I am a mortgage broker. Sorry yes I mean exchange date, Yep we have had the vendors contracts through too.
No she is unfortunately in a chain and apparently has brought somewhere else - hope her position hasn't changed - would i have heard by now if it had?

You don't "get" an exchange date.
The solicitors exchange contracts when everything is in place and a completion date is agreed.
The exchange date is the day they just happened to get to that stage and agreed to exchange between them.I am a mortgage broker.
