Or do you mean he is doing A levels in Maths and English and he doesn't want to?

If he's doing an A&D course but doesn't already have the required level of GCSE in English and Maths then the college is acting responsibly if they insist he takes them alongside.

Has your Grandson got grade C or above in GCSE in Maths and English?If he has then he needs to speak to his course leader if he hasn't then he needs to continue with these subjects. Its really important to try to get some Maths and English qualifications particularly if he wants to progress on to a higher level course or university. The subjects can also help him with the A & D which involves quite a bit of writing.
