hello
i hope this is in the right place
My little man is nearly 3 he has autism i would like to open a bank account for him or put a bit of money into his child trust fund i dont have a lot just a little bit saved each month for him. however what happens when he reaches 16 ? my son is non verbal and its unlikely he will speak if he does it will be limited he will always need help and wont be able to look after himself he understands very very little of anything so i know normally a bank account switches to the child at a certain age but what happens if the child isnt able to deal with things like that ? the same question applys with his child trust fund i know its a long way off but i just wondered how it works at the moment ive been putting his money in his piggy box but hes got about £200 and i wondered if there was a better way eg a savings account for him
any help is great and any suggestions on a good savings account for him would be appreciated too
thankyou for reading

When he is older you will need to apply for power of attorney or other appropriate delegation to manage his affairs - though the system will doubtless have changed by then. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
