I'm currently on TalkTalk LLU for landline, calls and broadband. My minimum term contract is up and I can get a better deal from Plusnet for the same.
When I switch to Plusnet will TalkTalk hold my number to ransom as I would like to keep it?
It was originally a BT landline number before I moved to TalkTalk LLU.
I'm sure I have heard stories in the past about TalkTalk not passing on peoples phone numbers.

Although you'll get all sorts of dire warnings about the number transfer not being guaranteed, in practice it seems very improbable that the number will be lost.
I did this same swapover about two years go and the process was simple and painless. Phone service ceased for about an hour during the morning and resumed with PN. Broadband was up and running by about 2100hrs. Two of my brothers have since done the same without hitch.
Don't forget that the Cashback sites will reward you for your migration.0 -
No, your number will be fine, but you'll need to do a return to donor on the line. Since you are going to a BT based line, rather than LLU, this should not be an issue. It's LLU to LLU that is problematic. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks, I'll make sure I do a return to donor first.
And yes, Quidco cashback is on the cards. As it was when I took out TalkTalk a year ago too. :cool:0 -
Sorry to highjack.
Whats a return to donor? And what's LLU?
I'm about to do the same switch hopefully next week.
Thanks0
