Laptop Problems

Hey Everyone,

Only today has my mum started having major problems with her laptop, it keeps on coming up with "no boot able device, insert boot disc and press any key"

This came up on the laptop many times and I tried restarting the laptop and also pressing f10 a few times to get rid of the message but it didnt work, can anyone else suggest anything. Thanks.

Well, since the boot disc is the HDD within the laptop, that sorta suggests failure or imminent failure of the HDD. Remove it, put it in a USB caddy, and connect to another, working machine to salvage data. The working machine won't prompt the disc to boot, and may look straight past the problem area
