Credit Card & Bank Charges Advice...

Hi Folks,
looking for some advice on this and where i stand in my own situation...
So i had a current account and credit card with the Halifax a couple of years back. fell on some hard times and the credit card had missed payments, over limit charges etc etc. it defaulted and wound up at blair oliver and scott and i have been paying them back monthly for the last 3 and a bit years.
Im wondering where i stand in terms of being able to claim back the charges on this from just before it was passed to blairO&S (late/missed payments, over limit etc etc).
If i can still pursue this who do i contact (HBOS or BlairO&S) for statements and how long do i request these to go back for? BlairO&S told me today that they could only give me these for the last 3 years but the account has been with them for more than that (but less than 5, im in scotland).
also the current account incurred some charges but has since been closed as well? can these still be claimed etc?
any advice would be great guys,
cheers,
james.

Regarding the credit card charges, refer to the MSE article on reclaiming these.

I think this answers most of your questions. Note the 5 year time limit in Scotland. Only the charges which were incurred in the last 5 years can be reclaimed.
If there are any, and you wish to attempt to reclaim these, you need to contact the card provider.
Regarding the current account, then here is the MSE article on reclaiming bank charges:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges
I don't think this applies to you as the account with charges on is no longer open, so the historical charges are not advesely affecting your current financial position (if you are even currently in genuine financial hardship)0
