Hi all,
A few weeks ago I won a compitition of a place on an art course. The course was one night a week for 6 weeks and was worth about £70. I was well chuffed to win because I had to send in a photo of an artwork I made based on the topic they set. Also the course sounded really good!
It started last week, so I drove to the venue (took me nearly an hour in rush hour traffic) and got to the place my email said to meet, only to find no one there. I eventually found someone who said 'Oh that course was cancelled about 2 weeks ago, did no one let you know?' (Well obviously not!) She took my details and said someone would get in touch as there is another course in the new year I could go on. No one has been in touch.
I don't know whether to chase this up or not. The venue is a theatre, should I suggest they could gift me vouchers to the amount of the course? Or hold out for another course? My mum says when you win a comp, it is like entering a contract where they promise to give you something of a specific value, but I always feel bad chasing up prizes as I haven't paid for the goods!
Thanks for any thoughts/advice

of course you should-was it the theatre doing the comp or someone else
whoever organised it should give u something of the same value or another place on future courseWhat goes around-comes around0 -
I think you definitely deserve something. I would chase them up if I were you.
It is rude of them to not have contacted you. They were probably hoping you'd just shut up and forget about it.0 -

Back Comping in 2024!0 -
Thank guys!
I'll have a go at chasing it up. It was the venue that ran the comp, so it is their responsibility to give out the prize. I wouldnt mind replacement gift vouchers to be honest!0
