Hamburg or Lubeck???

Hi all!
Just wondering if anyone can help me decide?
I've got tickets from Ryanair's 1p promotion to Hamburg, but since the airport is in Lubeck, I figure I have a choice to go to either Hamburg or Lubeck.
Which is a better place to be for a short break? More things to see?
I'm gonna be on a very budgeted trip.
Thanks in advance.

I flew to Lubek a couple of Decembers ago for their little Christmas market which was ok but the town is pretty small and I regretted hanging around there the whole weekend and not going on to Hamburg. I would imagine this time of year there is even less to see in Lubek.0

Just one night... on pictures, Lubeck does look nicer but you know how pictures are... Hamburg looked like a biggish city... And I like nice scenery...:A

I went to Lubeck for 3 nights and it was fab. Didn't regret not going to Hamburg. There is lots to do and see. Wish Ryanair hadn't cancelled the Glasgow-Lubeck route.0
