Voluntary Termination, can anyone help?
Evening all,
Firstly apologies for if this is in the wrong place!
I recently decided to VT an agreement I had for a Peugeot 207, the contract term was 37 months and the agreement was terminated at 30 months.
I arranged with the finance company to have the vehicle picked up and set a date for a vehicle inspector to call and pick up the vehicle.
When the inspector arrived I went round the car with him and he spent around 30 minutes checking every aspect of the car, he was extremely thorough. Whilst going round with the inspector I made sure to take pictures of each aspect of the car before it was driven away. (Something I'm now pleased about)
When the inspector had finished he confirmed that he thought the vehicle was in good shape and what he would expect for a two year old car. I checked the paperwork and he had noted 3 light scratches. I asked what he made of the scratches and he confirmed he felt the scratches would buff out easily. The inspector said the only thing he felt I could get charged for a scuff on the drivers side wheel trim. I checked the form over fully and signed.
Today I've received an invoice from the company selling the car on and they have listed £541 in damages. This was quite a shock considering the initial inspectors report.
The damages state as below:
2 x alloy wheel refurbs £55
1 x dent on swage line £65
2 x dent under 30mm no paint damage £50
1 x front bumper scuff £15
1 x poor previous panel repair n s quarter£200
1 x poor previous paint respray n s quarter £156
Total £541
Around a year ago I scraped the near side panel which was then repaired by my insurance company so I've spoke to them and they are prepared to look into the work. With regards to the other charges I'm really concerned. There was nothing other than a few light scratches put on the inspection form I signed and I took pictures whilst walking round the vehicle.
Can anyone help me understand where I stand with this? On the letter I received today there was a website listed. I've checked this out and it looks like the car is listed on an auction website so the work they have stated hasn't been done by them. So in theory they are invoicing me for work they will never carry out.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Victoria

Hi,
I recently considered VT on my 2011 Peugeot 207 as it is in negative equity. In the end I have decided to wait till the agreement ends in April and return the car back.
I'm not sure who your finance is with. My agreement is with Peugeot Financial Services (Banque PSA Finance), their advisor stated that the car would be given a brief inspection upon collection with a more detailed appraisal being done once the vehicle had been collected. Any damage picked up in the detailed appraisal would then be invoiced.
Are you contesting the damage does not exist or that you disagree with the charges invoiced? They don't have to carry out the work to the vehicle, however can invoice for damages on the basis the damage would reduce the value of vehicle upon it being resold. If you are contesting the damage or charges invoiced, you need to do this asap to the Finance Company.0 -
Thanks for the advice, yes the damage they are stating. The inspector spent 30 minutes going over the car (on a clear sunny day) he was really impressed with the condition and has listed a few light scratches and 1 alloy scuff. I know for a fact it had no dents. The auction company have listed the car on their website wit high resolution picture and I'm struggling to see dents on there too.0

Thanks Harry's dad, I'm not sure how to move the post.0
