good for odd bottles of lager/beer and wine eg today I bought a 330ml sol lager for 69p and a low alcohol lager 330ml for 29p. also 18.5cl bottles of wine for 99p ideal for picnics. 25p bread-sticks are good too! lots of different beers from 79p p to £1.79 great for parties/BBQ as you can take a selection.

Mine is hit and miss (as I imagine they all are!). I have B&M and Family Bargains on the same retail park, so I'll combine a visit to them approximately every 6 weeks.

I mostly go to stock up on cereal bars, which I eat in the car for breakfast on my morning commute. They usually have a few months of life on them and retail at half the price they do in Tescos (where I normally shop). As I eat 5 a week, I don't need them to have a long life, so it suits me fine.

In mine (Northampton), what is good value varies every time I go! So here's some things I've found in the past, that have been good!

    - 24-packs of Quavers (a family fave) for £1 each. I think they had 2 or 3 months of life left, so I snapped up a few bags.
    - Robinsons squash is often out for 99p a bottle. I don't buy it myself any more (I'm just as happy with own brand or value squash), but I'm sure it retails at Tesco for more like £1.40.
    - It's good for sauces (table sauces and curry/pasta sauces), soups, beans, tomatoes. Anything tinned really.

My best find though was boxes of Uncle Ben's boil in the bag rice. 10 packs per box, for £1.20ish. And they had 2 years of life! This is our preferred brand at home, we get through quite a lot because I find it much easier to manage than loose rice. I bought about 5 boxes! That's probably the find I was happiest with. :)
Because it's fun to have money!

We don't have one very locally, but I popped in to one the other week. If you have Home Bargains locally, I have to say that I prefer them.

I did discover Carte Noire coffee at a bargain price (£2.99 100g, £4.99 200g) and also a big bottle of sweet chilli sauce @ 49p which will be great for stir-fries.

I spotted this warning on rawhide dog chews from B&M elsewhere in the forum . It's genuine. I'm a bit concerned as I've bought these regularly in the past, though not the shoe shapes or balls as chewing shoe or ball shaped things isn't something I'd want to encourage.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
