I think just best to have a mooch - they often have short date items in ours.
I got some packs of whitworths green mango a few weeks ago for 29p each - they are about £2 in sainsburys

The McIlhenny tabasco when they have it. Usually less than £1 for a bottle, supermarket price is double this.

Soups are always a bargain, especially the Baxters.

Yeh I've had a mooch in 2 stores. Seen a few things like the popcorn I mentioned and the Di Cecco pasta sauce (haven't tried yet but was on offer at 2 for £1 ), didnt know if there were any hidden gems like the pasta sauce I mention and if was worth it.

I find B&M can be hit and miss. Sometimes they are excellent, especially on crisps that are very short date or just gone out of date. 8 packs of Walkers deep ridge for £1, that kind of thing. Also got Cadburys milk tray 800g once for 2.99, which is usually £7-8 in the main supermarkets. Furniture can be good, I got a set of aged lounge tables and bar stools very cheap. Same range as Argos but half the price.
    Other times I buy nothing.
  • I do so like the staff in B & M.................I bought two squeezy bottles of Hellmanns mayo a couple of weeks back.
The "lady" on checkout exclaimed in a loud shriek: "Oh, that stuff is GROSS !!!":mad:

I bought a coffee table for less than £15 and it broke after about 6 months

However, cupboard and bedside table are fine :D

I get sons chilli sauces there. Great price, wide range of 'heats'!
  • Anything that's a really good bargain is usually short dated so do check if it's something you are not planning to eat in the near future. I've had a lot of Special K (the flavoured variety) as low as £1 a box, but always very close to sell-by so I don't buy more than I can eat within the next month or two.

We buy our toilet rolls (9 for £1.99) and kitchen rolls (6 for £1.99) regularly in B&M. Good quality & the cheapest I can find for paper products that don't fall apart in your hands!

Heads up for B&M shoppers they sell some gammon joints that are really nice but you only know if it is smoked by some small writing on the label that says "may contain smoked product" forget may it definitely is smoked
