Why do my mums replamcent window frames seem to let in the cold

Last year my mum had all her windows replaced. The house last winter was colder than before the replacements, especially the patio door, as the wind just blows through the keyhole.
She thinks its the plastic surrounds of the windows and the patio door that is just letting the cold in as well as the patio keyhole. The glass seems fine, with the recent drop in temperature the glass condensates up on the outside not the inside.
Is she just imagining it or could the frames be poor and letting in the cold. Also is there anything I can buy for her re the patio door keyhole?
Many thanks

... did she have the windows fitted by a FENSA approved supplier, what are the energy efficiency ratings on the units?
How big is the key hole? Is the key like this?0 -

Ha! No not quite that big a key. It was a local chap, seems others have complaints as well now mum has been asking around. Not sure on the Fensa bit, his van has no logo's on it or what the energy rating is. The glass does seem fine as I say, it condensates outside.
I was not on speaking terms with my mum when this all happened and she would have taken what he had told her as being the best as just that sadly.
I've searched things for keyhole draughts, not much coming up. I found a sort of letter box brush style one but I don't think that would work as its for a regular door handle.0 -

You shouldn't get air blowing through a key hole, as most of the are euro locks. I suspect the frames haven't been sealed correctly, although the seals look ok from the outside, they might not be sealed internaly and air coming from the brick cavity.
Get someone in to have a look, the hinges my need adjusting.0 -
You can get covers for key holes- search for escutcheons.
If it's a patio door, you'll only ever have the key on the inside, so just put some sellotape over the outside hole. Done.0 -

many patio doors have key on the outside .Could be blowing in around euro barrel if the hole around it is to big you would need to take handle off to check . is also wouldnt think the hinges needed adjusting on windows these days there is very little tolerance on hinges it could be the espag needs adjusting to pull sash it tighter.are there trickle vents on these windows if so that could be the answerif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0
