Stopping Tax Credits

A friend of mine is in receipt of tax credits for her daughter who is at college, the daughter is due to complete her course shortly. My friend is fed up with all the mistakes they keep making, she just wants to stop receiving tax credits as she cannot be bothered with the hassle she only gets about £6 per week in tax credits. Can she phone up and tell them that she no longer wishes to claim or is it more complex than that.

No, HMRC cannot cancel a claim for Tax Credits. She can inform them when her daughter finishes college and then the award will automatically cease, but it's not possible to cancel a claim, sorry!"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0
