Which UK Bank has the worst 'reputation/image'
Hi, I am a University Student and I am about to start a PRcampaign. The whole idea is to create a ‘Crisis’ campaign. I have chosen to domine on a banking organisation after all; they have certainly had a negative experiencein the press. I am just wondering who you would personally say have been thebank which has received the worst press in the last few years and in need of acomplete turnaround in image?
Thanks for any input!

Suggest that you are a few years too late. Senior management of the major banks has been overhauled. So the change in culture has already started. Even if it's not visible to the eye.0

Santander have possibly the worst reputation going. Whether it's deserved or not is arguable (I'd argue it is) but their reputation has been and still pretty much is in the toilet.
Their predecessor Abbey wasn't called "Shabbey" for no reason.urs sinserly,

If you're talking Credit Crunch impact and bailout I'd suggest looking at RBS and HBOS. Oh, and Northern Rock.
If you're talking about PPI mis-selling look at Lloyds.
Service standards? Barclays and Santander would be good going.
Biggest UK negative impact on the USA sub-prime would be HSBC.
Losing the money of savers? Bradford and Bingley, Icesave, Kaupthing.0 -

The thing to consider today is no matter what industry you refer to the truth remains in that your typical day 2 day bank i.e. your branch and its staff have no real influence on how their company is run.
What I notice whether it be with banks, supermarkets, retail outlets, is you get different service from the same companies at different stores. It is that you should consider.
I dislike going to a Tesco near where I live because I never have a great customer service experience when I have been there, yet I can go to another store not more than a couple of miles away and get treated and feel totally different.0 -
Worst Reputation must be First Direct because it wins Customer service every year which to me indicate or wonder why everyone's on the phone to them.
Obviously they're messing something up.0 -

What do you mean by this ? I am with FD after rejecting other banks and am not planning to change .0 -
To be honest, while many people are critical of RBS Group, I feel their crisis management handling of last year's IT meltdown was pretty good on the whole. There was some confusion in the early hours of the problem, but they made huge efforts to help customers overcome their problems. (I realise Ulster Bank customers may disagree strongly with this.)0
