Should I stay with Spark Energy?

I have just moved into rented accomodation and our letting agent has automatically started a contract with Spark Energy on our behalf for both gas and electricity. Having looked on Money Supermarket it does appear to be the cheapest company for our usage but after seeing all the bad reviews online I am having doubts about whether to stay with them? Apparently they can increase their prices at any time?

Any advice anyone has on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

As you have seen with your online check, Spark are a law unto themselves and regularly break Ofgem's guidelines on how customers are treated.

DO NOT ASSUME that the Spark tariff you accessed online will be the one that you will be on as a 'Captive' customer tied to them by your lease agreement

    Word of warning.

A recent comparison (for us) showed Spark as £170 cheaper on 3 of the main sites (not MSE), but this tariff did not show up on Spark's own site.

Be careful about who says they are cheaper.

You may find Spark very hard to leave anyway....does your LL"s agreement lock you into a minimum term? You are aware that they get a kickback for signing you up?
Any company can increase it's prices at any time unless you are on a fixed tariff.
