Where to get a kitchen worktop

Options
Hello all,

I've quiet a few threads regarding kitchens, but i think we have this sorted except the worktop.

The other half wants a solid wood surface, but places like B&Q dont seem to sell it in longer then 3M lengths. Not sure if anyone else has had the same problem or not, im hoping someone might be able to advise a reliable company that can supply this in 3.5 M.

thanks

:D

When I was looking for a worktop I went to a local timber merchants (found in the yellow pages under 'timber merchants'). They did a very wide range of worktops in all sorts of thicknesses and lengths. They didn't keep them in stock but could get them in within 24 hours and delivery was much cheaper than B&Q and the like. Might be worth ringing around.

You might get more response if you told everyone your location.

I know somewhere in Manchester, but how do I know if its near you ?

  • Try Howdens, I think the beech worktop we got was over 3M as I remember having to cut it before it would fit in the van!
