Leaking Roof!

We're in the process of having a complete re-roof on our 1930s house. The old tiles are off, the felt is on and we're about to have the new tiles put on.
The problem is in the last day we've found four different wet patches on the upstairs walls and the alarm bells have started ringing.
The explanations we've had have ranged from a rogue nail attaching the felt to the timber, exceptional rainfall, and, worringingly, a problem with the felt itself.
Is the problem likely to be the felt, the quality of the work or the unusually heavy rain?
If felt is properly secured should it keep out rain in all circumstances?
Finally, should we proceed with having the new tiles put on and the job completed knowing there might be a problem lurking below?

i wouldnt be too worried. the felt is a secondary barrier, and with all those nails going thro then some small leak is inevitable. when the tiles are on it should be leakproof. im surpised the roofers didnt put some tarpaulins on for extra protection?
and the amont of rain weve had the last 24 hrs hasnt helped either!Get some gorm.0 -
yeah, i was thinking about tarpaulin as the ludicrousy heavy rain in Birmingham kept me awake all night. Oh well, the tiles are all on today so hopefully that'll be the end of that. Thanks for your reply.0
