    Hi Penny savers,
Spent the first part of the morning finding ways of avoiding doing the ironing....which got more & more creative, sorting out my fabric stash, counting odd balls of sock wool, playing the piano until giving myself a talking to!
    Today's small money-saving things:
*Horrible big boring pile of ironing. Switched off for last garment.
*Chicken soup in the slow cooker using the last of the rubber chicken & home-made stock.
*Find method of airing mr f's socks on the slow cooker without them smelling of chicken soup. Done!! (Am paying for that heat, may as well use it!)
*Shared bath water. Can't make any progress on getting mr f to have more showers than baths for energy-saving purposes, so have decided to try dropping 3 showers a week myself & share bath water. Why is he such a bath-wallower? Perhaps he was a hippo in a former life......
*Bread maker on for dough for tonight's pizza & rolls for next few days.
*Start researching technical lego for Christmas present. If it is as expensive as I have heard, we will buy an alternative gift, as I am being strict about our Christmas present budget this year.
*Start next week's meal plans, using freezer list compiled last week.
*Find my Christmas cake & pudding recipes so that I can start adding an ingredient or two to our shopping list each week.
*Gather more windfall pears. Eat more windfall pears.
*Continue knitting jumper. Am halfway up a sleeve now, whoo-hooo!
Think that's everything I'm intending, tho doubtless other bits & bobs will crop up.
Ally - Good luck to you & your partner today. Hope it's not too stressful.
    Cheers all,
    foxgloves x

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for starting us off bt1.
    Good luck today Ally.
Foxgloves - I am a terrible wife & never iron a thing! Just get it hung up ASAP & it usually looks ok, it's only if we're going to a wedding or something I get make sure DH has an ironed shirt!

    Today's plan:-
    • Making use of free water at work
    • Food from stores
    • Dinner from meal plan - Chicken in paprika, didn't have this yesterday as DH was really late home as he was doing overtime, so we had one of our HM "ready meals" of chilli & rice
    • Staying in for my lunch break to avoid spending
    • Log calories & exercise on free apps
    • Checked birthday bingo
    • Check online banking
    • Check for new mystery shopping opportunities
    • Enter some comps
    • Do some surveys
    • Declutter & flylady
    • DH hopefully doing some overtime today
    • Heating off, fleecey dressing gowns on instead
    • Chase up last few people who owe me for this month's lottery, not even sure if it's worth playing anymore as it's doubled in cost, but most didn't want to spend more so we all pay £1 a week still but now only have 7 chances of winning rather than 14, & because we can't pick a line each anymore it'll all be lucky dips
    • Washing on 30 degree eco setting using less than the recommended dose of washing liquid
    • Hang up to dry
    • Look at my options for the future & somehow get through the day again
Hope you're all ok & have a great MSE day x

    *That's quite an image.

    Morning

Got a busy day at work today so I'm up early, already on the train! Had a nice early-ish night last night. Managed to do one balance transfer (transferring my debt from my mums card to mine - figure that now I have my mortgage I should get all my debt into my name. Especially as my mum is in the process of applying for a mortgage now!)

Aiming for a NSD today. Already spent £16.90 of my weekly budget (£30) (still need to do my food shop!!)

    List for today:
    • Check bank and CCs - done
    • Update app - done
    • Lunch from home - leftover spag Bol from last night (I haven't been sticking to meal plan this week so need to get better at that!!)! - done
    • Stay in a lunch - done
    • Email company about a gift experience I have - voucher expires in October, but they are closed between September-March!! - done they emailed me back saying I need to go back to "buy a gift"
    • Get the bus to station tonight (cheaper than tube) - done - got the bus both ways so saved £1.40. Takes soooooo much longer tho

    • Put washing away from weekend (been meaning to do this all week!!)
    • Do a new meal plan for next week
    • Start food shopping list for weekend
    • Quick tidy about
    • Early night

Doubt I'll get much else done tonight, still on my way home as I worked late... feeling really rubbish today :( hopefully ill cheer up tomorrow!!!
