Another for the maybelline gel. I've had it on tightlines and waterlines all day before! And rubbed eyes and it stayed still.

I prefer an angled eyeliner brush - ecotools is mine but any should do, I just find it easier for a thin line.

Okay, do you use a eye primer?

Its a base product that helps eye shadow stay put. Usually a skin tone shade. They can help, or eye shadow powder before lining can help. Oh and it can take about a minute for the eyeliner to set so if you are doing something before that it might be smudging the eyeliner?

Since you want twist up, Smashbox(available at large Boots or online from Smashbox.co.uk), they have a new waterproof twist up one.

Personally Urban Decay 24/7 is brilliant but its a normal pencil. Rimmel do one which is cheaper but again its a normal pencil.

If you're looking for an eye primer that is very similar to Urban Decay, try Superdrug's MUA. It's about £3 I think and does exactly the same job.

I agree with using a bit of eyeshadow to set liner and I would also suggest gel eyeliner as this tends not to budge.

Or you can get semi permanent tattoo eyeliner. A friend go it done and didn't even have to go back for the top up some months later. She got it done two years ago and still good.

I tend to use Avon Supershock ones and find they are very good, I also use MAC ones (twisty up ones exactly like Avon Glimmerstick) and these have very good staying power, I use their gel ones as well and I apply them with a very thin brush. I find I need longer to apply these gel ones though as you do have to be quite precise and you have to start again if you make a mistake! Once they are on though, they last all day long no problem. I cannot apply liquid pen type ones though no matter how long I take, I just find the pen bit to floppy and not precise enough for me! My daughter has just ventured into the world of eye liners and on Saturday got the MAC Powerpoint eye pencil, it is one you sharpen but rather than wood around it it seems to have black plastic that you sharpen. She (I!) wanted a more natural look so opted for the shade of Bountiful Brown, a lovely light/mid brown with a very subtle 'gleam' and it looks lovely on her. They have loads of different versions though, so well worth a look. I have had Gosh pencils in the past which I was very pleased with as well, also Bourjois!:)

I use the MAC gel liner. It stays on all day.

I need to try this, I've been looking for a decent product to tightline.

  • In my opinion, bobbi browns eyeliner pots can't be beaten for staying power...and they last ages!

I really like the Lancome Artliner with the felt tip which is a liquid. It comes in Azure (blue) which is a lot less harsh than the black. It really stays put - I fell asleep with my eyemakeup still on a couple of weeks ago and after wearing it all day and all night the eyeliner hadn't budged.
  • I know you're not looking for a liquid one but I swear by Benefit badgirl eyeliner, stays in place all day. I also set it with eye shadow so it doesnt look so harsh.
