Cost of fitting sheet vinyl flooring

Hi,
Looking for advice from experience vinyl floor fitters. I've been asked to fit some sheet vinyl flooring in a bathroom for a friend of a friend.
The bathroom measures 2.72m x 1.7m, and the only thing on the floor is a standard 1700m bath. The floor is levelled with ply.
What I would like to know is how much should I be charging to fit it. How are prices for fitting vinyl worked out? By £/square metre? I know it will take me longer to fit it compare to you experience fitters, but it's something I would like to add to my skills to go with the laminate floor fitting I do.
Would appreciate any advice.

It all depends how much time you think it will take you, an experienced fitter will have it done in 20 mins or less. Plus is it being glued down? or just the edges spray tacked?

Do you expect the customer to pay for you to learn ??

Prolly about £ 80 - 100. But as its for a friend do it for nowt and treat it as a training exercise / learning curve.

Thanks for your reply plumb1. I did tell him to get a professional vinyl floor fitter in and his reply was he's too expensive. He didn't tell me how much he was being charged, but then I can't imagine it to be a huge some of money to fit 5 square metres of sheet vinyl, compared to say something like having Karndean or Amtico fitted.
I have fitted vinyl before but only for family and relatives, but because I have never had to charge them for fitting it, I am unsure how a price is worked out. Anyway the sheet vinyl will be spray tacked at the edges and also silicone, as that is how he says he's wanted it done.

I've just had it done, Vampy. £275 inc. materials for back lobby, kitchen, downstairs bathroom and toilet ....16sq metres . Did the prep work myself. He was here maybe three hours. Not an A1 job, but then tis an old house, and he didn't seal the edges, which a decorator did later.
A tile fitter quoted £800 inc. materials, preparation and fitting. His labour £30 sq metre.
It's all down to how flat you can get it.

For our fitters it would come under a minimum charge of £40 plus travelling and materials

I get charged £30 - £40 for a standard bathroom.

It's the best £40 I spend. The guys that do it for a living make a perfect job and they take 30 minutes. Don't underestimate how difficult carpet and vinyl fitting is. It's an apprenticed trade.

If I was you I wouldn't get involved with it. One wrong cut and you will be seriously out of pocket replacing it.
