Whats cheapest way to get to France by Ferry.
I have Tesco Rewards Vouchers I could use, but can only see options to go by train by eurotunnel.
I will be going from Birmingham - Will take Car and drive to Paris.
Will be me , my wife and 5 year old.
Any help or advice appreciated.
Will be going Fri 25th Oct and back either 30 Oct or 31 Oct - depending on work.

you can use your clubcard on the eurotunnel but its half term so it may be busy

looking at the prices, its going to be about £160 so you will need nearly £60 worth of vouchers - its via email to so its quick but make sure that if you are doing it that you exchange all your vouchers together and have one token to exchange for your trip with eurotunnel0 -
Thanks for the reply. I was trying to find some rewards for use on ferry. As wanted to go on this route.
If not then may consider the train.
I think there are reward options for ferry to Guernsey or even p and o cruises but none for ferry to France.
Failing that, are there any voucher or promo codes for ferry?0 -
Any reason for preferring ferry? Personally I would always pick the tunnel!0

Was thinking of going on the ferry as would probably be taking my car. And its the first time to France and the first opportunity for wife and son to get tha experience at sea. Any future trips would definitely be the more convenient ones maybe via tunnel.
Wife is pregnant, but don't think that's a factor. (3 months).0 -
School half term, the last chance to get away etc.
Deals may be in short supply, the cheapest is usually going to be on the Dover > Calais routeChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

I think you may be confusing Eurostar (train from St Pancras) with Eurotunnel (drive on to train with car and get to France in about 40 minutes). Eurotunnel takes you to Calais. If your wife's pregnant that may be a better option if she's feeling sick at all.0 -
We go to France by car on the eurotunnel using tesco clubcard vouchers and its much better than the ferry. No overpriced crap on board, no stinking toilets, no nightmare crushes to get back down to the cars when its time to get off and all done in 35 minutes. You wont be missing out on anything by not going by ferry.0

Thanks guys. You have convinced me. Will look at Eurotunnel and using Tesco rewards.0

I agree with going by tunnel, but partially due to the fact I suffer sea sickness.
But when we do use the ferry we use the Dover Dunkirk route, seems to be cheaper than Dover Calais.
Downside is that it is a 2 hour crossing instead of 1 1/2hr.0 -
Love the tunnel but it has got expensive these days, used to do an evening return for a tenner.
Just done a quick comparison, DFDS to Dunkerke, £62 , my ferryling, formerly SeaFrance, £72 or P&O, £78 both to Calais. Eurotunnel, £178. All fares are return for a car and passengers.
Worth working out whether your discount is worthwhile, the ferries are not too bad, the new P&O ones are very nice and no need to spend out on food and drink, just take your own. Yes they may have coachloads of kids running riot, and a few steps to negotiate back to the car but for half the price, or less, I wouldn't write them off.0
