Wonder if anyone can give me some idea of what would it would cost me to have the outside of my house painted please.
Mid terrace house Liverpool. Just the front. Bay window up and down, painted brick work already. Needs a bit of prep work and probably going from a brick red colour to a bluey grey
Thanks

    Based on that spec (:D) I'd say between £ 100 and £ 2,000 - somewhere.

    Cheers

    Just the front £300/£350 tops.
A thankyou is payment enough .
  • Thanks ...updated my post to show it is just the front. I know ultimately I need to get a painter and decorator to quote me based on actually seeing the job but I just really value peoples guidance on here so that I don't get ripped off as I have been in the past.

Get a couple of quotes, if its a average sized terraced, then £350 should be there abouts.
Just had the front of one house fully painted, bricks an all. i fully refurbished last week for less.

The biggest cost will be changing the colour of the bricks (red) , may need 3
    coats??

Best if you get it done, before winter/ damp conditions set in, no good painting in low temperatures.

Yes I mentioned the red to grey as figured that needed to be taken into account. Happy for you to PM me the contact details of the P&D if you think they may be interested in work in this area

You gave a wide open spec so I gave a wide open price. Pic might be good, whats the condition of the paintwork in question, is it just masonry or are we talking woodwork as well? Whats the area of the masonry. Plumb's right. Get people round to look at it and price it for you.

    Cheers

So for anyone that is interested I got a good quote for the work and despite keystone thinking I hadn't given enough information plumb managed to estimate correctly. I added the railings and gate onto the job and it comes in at £400.
    Thanks plumb :)

and if it had come in at £950? What would you be saying then? "But it didn't" isn't an acceptable answer BTW. It's really no skin off my nose if you want to score points tbh. :D
