Approx 18 months ago the company i worked for was approached about a take over and the director sold the business for a considerable amount of money.
The new owners approached me and i was unsure about my future in the new set up,my old boss sent me a mail and advised me i was an integral part of the sale and offered me 60K to stay which was in writing and the terms were 30k last year which i received and a further 30 k if i stayed one year and one day which was the 28th August this year.
The second instalment of my 30k was not received so i approached my old boss who now claims to be in Financial difficulties and cannot pay me,i do not believe him he got 2,8 Million for the business, paid 1Million last year ,a further million this August and the balance next August.
I belief the contract he had was for me to stay the first year which as now elapsed,do you think the email would stand up in court if i went to see a solicitor.

That's what the solicitor would be able to tell you!
Do you have legal cover through union membership or home insurance? give them a call. For the sake of £30k it's worth investing a couple of hundred to investigate your chances.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
What can you do???
Go see a solicitor.
IF you really feel that any advice received on here based on your 'facts' is of any value, then you are deluded.
You might have a clear certain winning case, or a total waste of time....no-one can tell you which one you have...so go see a solicitor.0
