Syncing iPhone and photos

Hey, me again!

Right so to try and fix my no network problem on my iPhone I am trying to update to the newest software.

I want to sync my phone so I don't lose everything.

When trying to sync it says I don't have permission. Its something to do with the photos.

This happened when I updated my phone last time and I ended up just updating and losing everything I had downloaded. I know I can put the apps back on my phone but it loses all the data that was saved on them.

I've googled the problem and people keep saying to change the permission or delete the photo stream on my computer. I can't do either of these.
I can't find anywhere I can change permissions and I have tried deleting the photo stream folder but there isn't an option to delete it.

I am at my wits end with this, its so frustrating!!:mad:

Where are the photos currently? On your iphone?

What exactly says you don't have permission to do what? Sync at all?

The photos are on my phone.

It won't let me sync anything.

    The exact wording is:

iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because you do not have write access to the folder pictures.

How on earth do I give myself write access? I've never changed any settings so I have no idea why it is saying this!!

Are you syncing with a Windows PC?

It may be that you have to navigate to the photos folder that you wish your iphone photos to sync with then right click that and change the permissions of that folder.

    That's pretty much it.

In iTunes you need to find the folder it is trying to sync with. That's the folder on the computer, not on the phone.
Then you need to select a folder within Pictures to be the one you use. There should be a sub folder in My Pictures called My Photo Stream. That's the best one to use.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

I've been trying all evening to get this sorted and now the phone won't even turn on!

iTunes told me I had to restore the phone and I have now tried that four times with no luck!

So now I have absolutely no phone :-(

I've booked an appointment at my 'local' apple store for Saturday, hopefully they can do something to help. It will then be almost a week with a phone that doesn't function!!
